Other players can attack you too! Here's how to protect yourself.
If you're being attacked constantly, don't panic! This chapter will teach you how to become an unattractive target and protect your resources.
The Best Defense: Be Unprofitable
The most effective defense isn't building turrets - it's making sure attackers gain nothing from attacking you!
Spend your resources before logging off! If you have zero resources on your planet, there's nothing to steal. No profit = no reason to attack you.
How to Stay "Poor" (On Purpose)
- Always queue a building upgrade before going offline
- Start researching technologies - they use up Graphene and Deuterium
- Build ships or defenses with leftover resources
- Send excess resources to a colony that's less visible
- If you still have resources, do a Fleetsave (next chapter!)
Fleetsaving: Your Ships Must Fly!
Your ships are valuable! If they're sitting on your planet, they can be destroyed in an attack.
Losing your fleet is the worst thing that can happen in this game. Ships take time and resources to rebuild. ALWAYS fleetsave before going offline!
The next chapter covers this in detail, but the basic idea is:
- Send your fleet on a long mission before you sleep
- Load all your resources onto the fleet
- Time it so the fleet returns when you're online
Building Defenses
Defenses are built in the Shipyard, just like ships.
Unlike ships, defenses can't move - they stay on your planet.
Types of Defenses
Defense Strategy
- A mix of defenses is better than just one type
- Shield Domes are very powerful (one of each per planet)
- Defenses rebuild themselves! After battle, 70% come back.
Defenses rebuild after battle! About 70% of destroyed defenses come back. Ships don't - they're gone forever.
Help! I Keep Getting Attacked!
Being "farmed" (attacked repeatedly by the same player) can be frustrating. Here's what to do:
Immediate Actions
- Spend everything! Build, research, make ships - don't leave resources lying around
- Fleetsave constantly - Your fleet should never be on your planet when you're offline
- Check your spy reports - See who's attacking you and how strong they are
- Message the attacker - Sometimes a polite message can stop the attacks (no insults!)
Long-Term Solutions
- Join an Alliance - Other players might help defend you or retaliate
- Build defenses - Make it costly for them to attack you
- Colonize far away - New planets in distant galaxies are harder to find
- Be patient - Active players often move on to easier targets
- Don't insult or threaten the attacker - it usually makes things worse
- Don't quit the game! The situation will improve
- Don't leave your fleet unprotected as "bait" - you'll just lose it
Protecting Resources
Bunkers protect resources from being stolen during attacks.
Each bunker level protects 10,000 units of that resource.
Each bunker level protects more resources. However, bunkers only help if you have more resources than the bunker capacity. If you spend all your resources, you don't need bunkers!
