🌑 Moons & Phalanx

Learn about moons, how to get one, and special moon buildings.

What is a Moon?

Moons are special celestial bodies that orbit your planets. Unlike planets, moons have unique buildings that give you massive strategic advantages!

Strategic Value

Advanced players consider moons essential. A moon with a Phalanx lets you intercept enemy fleets. A moon with a Jump Gate lets you move fleets instantly across the galaxy!

How to Get a Moon

Moons are created from battle debris! When a large battle happens and creates lots of debris, there's a chance a moon will form.

Moon Chance Calculation

  • Every 100,000 debris = 1% moon chance
  • Maximum chance is 20% (2 million debris)
  • Moon forms at the planet where the battle happened
Getting a Moon

Many players arrange "moon shots" - intentional battles to create enough debris. You can ask alliance members to help crash ships at your planet!

Moon Size & Fields

Moons start very small (only 1-5 fields!). This is where the Moon Base becomes critical.

Moon Base (CRITICAL!)

The Moon Base is the first thing you must build on a moon. Without it, you can't build anything else!

Moon Base = More Fields!

Each level of Moon Base gives you +3 additional fields on your moon.

  • Moon Base Level 1 = 3 extra fields
  • Moon Base Level 5 = 15 extra fields
  • Moon Base Level 10 = 30 extra fields
Build Order

Upgrade Moon Base FIRST until you have enough fields for Phalanx and Jump Gate. You'll typically need Moon Base level 4-6 to fit everything important.

Phalanx Sensor (Spy on FLEETS!)

The Phalanx is one of the most powerful buildings in the game. It lets you see enemy fleet movements!

What Can Phalanx Do?

  • See all fleets coming to or leaving from an enemy PLANET
  • Shows exact arrival time of fleets
  • Shows fleet composition (what ships)
  • Shows mission type (attack, transport, etc.)

How to Use Phalanx

  1. Go to your moon and click on the Phalanx building
  2. Enter the coordinates of the enemy PLANET you want to scan
  3. Click "Scan" - costs Deuterium each time!
  4. See all fleet activity at that planet

Phalanx Range

The Phalanx can only scan planets within a certain range. Higher level = longer range!

Range Formula: (Phalanx Level)² - 1 solar systems

  • Level 1 = 0 systems (only your own system)
  • Level 3 = 8 systems range
  • Level 5 = 24 systems range
  • Level 7 = 48 systems range
Phalanx Limitations
  • Cannot scan MOONS - only planets!
  • Cannot see fleets from moons
  • This is why fleetsaving from moons is safer!

Jump Gate (Instant Teleportation!)

The Jump Gate lets you teleport ships instantly between your moons. No fuel cost, no travel time!

How Jump Gate Works

  • You need a Jump Gate on both moons (origin and destination)
  • Ships arrive instantly - zero travel time
  • No Deuterium cost for jumping
  • Cooldown: You can only use it once per hour

How to Use Jump Gate

  1. Go to your moon and click on the Jump Gate
  2. Select which of your other moons to jump to
  3. Select which ships to send
  4. Click "Jump" - ships arrive immediately!
Strategic Uses
  • Quick Defense: Jump your fleet to defend against incoming attacks
  • Surprise Attacks: Jump fleet close to target, then attack!
  • Resource Movement: Jump cargo ships to quickly move resources
Important Limitations
  • Can only jump SHIPS - no resources!
  • Resources must be transported the normal way
  • 1 hour cooldown between jumps

Why Moons Are Essential

📡
Phalanx Hunting
Scan enemy planets to catch their fleets returning. Time your attack perfectly!
🌀
Rapid Response
Jump your fleet across the galaxy in seconds to defend or attack.
🛡️
Safe Fleetsaving
Moons CAN'T be scanned by Phalanx. Your fleetsave times are hidden!
👁️
Intelligence
Know exactly when enemies are online based on their fleet activity.

Moon Building Priority

  1. Moon Base - Level 4-6 first (need fields for other buildings)
  2. Robot Factory - Speed up construction
  3. Shipyard - If you want to build ships on moon
  4. Phalanx Sensor - As high as you can afford
  5. Jump Gate - Level 1 is enough (no benefit to upgrade)
