Version 1.2.0 — Daily Missions, Notifications Redesign & Captain Fixes
We're excited to release AgeOfSpace V 1.2.0, our biggest update yet! This version introduces an entirely new progression system, a redesigned notification experience, critical bug fixes, and major security improvements under the hood.
🎯 Daily Missions — New Progression System
A brand new Daily Missions system gives players daily and weekly objectives with meaningful rewards.
How It Works
- 6 daily missions + 3 weekly missions automatically generated
- 52 unique mission types across 7 categories: Economy, Construction, Military, Fleet, Research, Social, and Survival
- Mission difficulty scales automatically based on your rank and production
- Progress is tracked in real time — no manual claiming needed
Rewards
Earn points by completing missions and unlock 4 reward tiers each day:
- Tier 1 (25 pts): 50% of hourly resource production
- Tier 2 (50 pts): 75% resources + build time speedup
- Tier 3 (75 pts): 75% resources + Dark Matter
- Tier 4 (100 pts): Choose your reward — resources, ships, or Dark Matter
Premium players receive a 50% bonus on resource rewards.
Streak System
- Build a consecutive day streak for milestone bonuses at days 3, 7, 14, 30, 60, and 90
- Earn 1 free streak freeze per week — skip a missed day without losing your streak
- Additional freezes available for 50 Dark Matter
🔔 Redesigned Notification System
Notifications have been completely overhauled with a modern glassmorphism design.
- 5 notification categories with color-coded toasts: Fleet (cyan), Building (gold), Research (purple), Combat (red), Messages (blue)
- Category-specific sounds for fleet, building, research, combat, and message events
- New Notification Center — click the bell icon to see your last 50 notifications with timestamps
- Notification history persists across page refreshes
🧑✈️ Captain System Fixes
Several critical bugs that caused captains to become permanently locked have been resolved:
- Captains are now properly released when their fleet is destroyed in combat
- Fixed captain release in Attack, Spy, Colonization, and Missile missions
- Captain assignment now uses pessimistic locking to prevent race conditions during fleet dispatch
- Added maintenance command to release stuck captains from past bugs
🚀 Expedition Improvements
- All expedition outcome messages now properly translated in all 9 languages
- Reports now show captain XP gains, item discoveries, and pirate battle results
- Fixed missing translation keys for pirate encounters, empty expeditions, and captain items
🔒 Security & Stability
A comprehensive security audit was performed and all critical vulnerabilities have been patched:
- Replaced unsafe code execution with a secure formula parser
- Fixed database query vulnerabilities
- Added input sanitization across all user-generated content
- Improved webhook verification for payment processing
- Optimized database queries for faster page loads
🐛 Other Bug Fixes
- Fixed notification channel mismatches (chat, alliance, and messages were sharing the same channel)
- Fixed fleet event overlap detection
- Improved construction queue reliability
- Fixed missing EventBus emits for building and research completion
